# Privacy policy

Last updated: 2026-09-09

Your scripture library is personal. Here is what the service stores and why.

## Information you provide

We store your name, email address, and a protected password hash to create and secure your account. We also store the passages you save, highlights, notes, tags, collections, and reading-plan progress and notes. Notes may contain sensitive personal information; only include information you are comfortable storing in your account.

## How we use it

We use this information to sign you in, show your library, save your progress, deliver account verification and password-reset emails, and protect and maintain the service. Your library is not published to other users. If you copy or download a passage to share, you control where it goes; notes are excluded unless you choose to include them.

## Cookies and your device

Essential session cookies keep you signed in. Your browser also stores language, appearance, keyboard preferences, and your reading position. If you enable offline reading, recent chapters and pending saves are stored on that device. You can turn offline reading off and clear that data in Settings. Clearing browser storage may remove preferences and unsynced changes.

## Service providers and security

Cloudflare hosts the application and Neon stores account and library data. Our email provider, Resend, processes email addresses and account messages for delivery. Authentication records may include IP addresses and browser information; hosting systems may also keep technical logs for operation and security. Access controls protect your library, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

## Optional usage analytics

When analytics is configured, we ask permission before using PostHog to measure page visits, account flows, reading activity, and feature use. After sign-in, an internal account identifier connects these events across visits; we do not send your name, email, passwords, notes, tags, collection names, search text, or scripture references. Events include the site environment, software build identifier, and basic browser and device information to help us understand changes between releases. PostHog receives network information needed to deliver requests; location enrichment is disabled. Session recording and automatic collection of page content are disabled. Analytics uses browser storage and can be switched off here or in Settings. We honor Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Declining does not affect any app features.

## Your choices and data retention

You can export your library and edit or delete saved content in the app. We keep account and library data to provide the service while your account is active. Profile & data lets you export account and study data, clear study data, and delete your account with password confirmation. Contact us for other access or correction requests. We may need to verify account ownership. Some records may need to be retained for security or legal obligations, and backup copies may remain until their retention period expires. Account deletion removes current account and study records; previously collected analytics and email-provider records are managed separately. Offline copies on other devices must be cleared on those devices. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights and the right to contact a data-protection authority.

## Updates to this policy

We will update this page when our data practices change. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be brought to your attention when required by law.
