# Terms of use

A few ground rules for your time with Favorite Scriptures.

## Using Favorite Scriptures

Favorite Scriptures is a free service for reading scripture, keeping a personal library, and following reading plans. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. You must be legally able to agree to them, or use the service with the involvement of a parent or guardian where applicable.

## Your account

Use an email address you control, keep your password secure, and do not access anyone else’s account. You are responsible for the activity you authorize through your account. Contact us if you believe someone has accessed it without permission.

## Your notes belong to you

You keep ownership of the original notes and other content you add. You give us permission to store, display, and process that content only as needed to provide and maintain the service. Only upload content you have the right to use. You can export your library and delete saved passages from the Library page.

## Respectful, lawful use

Do not use the service to break the law, infringe others’ rights, distribute harmful code, bypass access controls, or disrupt the service. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address abuse or protect the service and its users.

## Scripture and reading plans

Scripture translations have their own source and licensing terms. Source information is linked below. Our reading plans are guides for personal study, not professional medical, legal, financial, or counseling advice. The application and its design remain the property of their respective owners.

## Availability and backups

We aim to keep the service useful and reliable, but cannot promise uninterrupted access or that it will be free of errors. Keep an exported copy of notes that matter to you. Browser storage, including offline downloads and unsynced saves, can be cleared or lost. To the extent allowed by applicable law, the service is provided as available without additional warranties. These terms do not limit rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded.

## Changes and leaving

You can stop using Favorite Scriptures at any time. Open Profile & data from the account menu to export your data, clear your study data, or delete your account. We may update the service and these terms; the date above identifies this version. Material changes will be brought to your attention before they take effect when required by law.
